Welcome to Los Angeles E-Waste (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By accessing or using our website, scheduling services, dropping off materials, or otherwise engaging with our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

1. General Website Terms

Use of Website

You agree to use this website for lawful purposes only. Any misuse, data scraping, unauthorized access, reverse engineering, or attempts to disrupt our systems is strictly prohibited.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including logos, graphics, text, photos, and layout, is the property of Los Angeles E-Waste unless otherwise stated and may not be reproduced without written permission.

Accuracy of Information

While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all content is error-free or complete. Information may change at any time without notice.

2. Service-Specific Terms

A. Electronic Recycling Services

Accepted Items: Only items listed on our Accepted Electronics List will be processed. Prohibited, illegal, or hazardous materials may be refused, returned, or disposed of at your expense.

Ownership & Authorization: By dropping off or arranging pickup, you certify that you are the legal owner of the items or are authorized to dispose of them.

Transfer of Title: All items become the property of Los Angeles E-Waste upon acceptance unless otherwise agreed in writing.

No Return Policy: Once items are accepted, dismantled, wiped, shredded, or recycled, they cannot be recovered or returned under any circumstances.

B. Pickup Services

Scheduling & Access: Pickup must be scheduled in advance. Items must be accessible, safe to handle, and ready at the agreed location.

Missed or Failed Pickups: Missed appointments, inaccessible items, or unsafe conditions may result in rescheduling fees or cancellation.

Eligibility: Free or discounted pickup may be limited by zip code, item type, quantity, or business classification. We reserve the right to decline pickup requests at our discretion.

C. Drop-Off Services

Business Hours: Drop-offs are only accepted during published business hours.

Staff Check-In Required: Items left without staff acknowledgment may be treated as abandoned and disposed of without liability.

Sorting & Condition: Items must meet acceptance guidelines. Improperly mixed, leaking, or damaged items may be refused.

D. Data Destruction Services

Methods: We offer on-site and off-site data destruction using industry-recognized methods, including shredding, wiping, and degaussing.

Customer Responsibility: Devices requiring data destruction must be clearly identified. We are not responsible for data on unlabeled, hidden, or embedded storage devices.

Certificates: Certificates of Data Destruction are available upon request and must be pre-arranged.

Liability: While we follow best practices, Los Angeles E-Waste is not liable for residual data resulting from mislabeling, hidden devices, or incomplete disclosures.

E. Recycling Events & Collection Drives

Client Responsibilities: Clients are responsible for securing the event site and any required permits unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Liability Waiver: Los Angeles E-Waste is not responsible for injuries, theft, or property damage during events unless caused by gross negligence.

Cancellation Policy: Events canceled with less than 72 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

F. Product & Brand Destruction

Destruction Scope: Includes defective products, recalled items, counterfeit goods, or obsolete inventory. Chain of custody can be maintained upon request.

Proof of Destruction: Photo, video, or written confirmation is available depending on service level.

Confidentiality: Brand-sensitive destruction is handled discreetly and securely.

G. IT Asset Disposition (ITAD)

Inventory & Audit: Full audit reports and serial tracking may be available upon request for qualifying business clients.

Value Recovery: If assets have resale value, a revenue-sharing or buyback arrangement may apply only if pre-approved in writing.

Data Security: Devices must be clearly labeled for data destruction or resale. We are not responsible for data left on unlabeled devices.

3. Prohibited & Hazardous Materials

We do not accept hazardous waste, including (but not limited to): chemicals, paint, solvents, medical or biohazard materials, explosives, pressurized containers, and large household appliances unless explicitly approved in writing. Customers are responsible for removal costs or penalties related to prohibited materials.

4. Fees & Payment Terms

Certain items or services may be subject to fees. Pricing is subject to change and must be confirmed prior to service. Unpaid balances may result in service refusal or collection actions as permitted by law.

5. Limitation of Liability

Los Angeles E-Waste is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our website or services. Our total liability shall not exceed the service fees paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Los Angeles E-Waste from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from misrepresentation of ownership, prohibited or illegal materials, failure to disclose data-bearing devices, or violations of applicable laws or regulations.

7. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, labor disruptions, supply chain issues, equipment failure, power outages, or government actions.

8. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be handled in the appropriate courts within Los Angeles County, California.
